Robertson Stocks
« on: February 15, 2010, 01:31:52 PM »
Just received 2 stocks from Ian. Blue one is for a Swindlehurst and the yellow one is for a BAT SV. Both came it at 26 oz, with the buttplate, but no triggerguard. Looking forward to getting these going.

Rick

Your blue one looks like mine except the inletting on mine is black or dark gray. I just love the long forend on those stocks. I think it shifts the weight to the rear on the bags and improves balance.

Ordered mine mid Dec. and was given a 3 month delivery.  So I am a bit anxious.  Colour well; I know it will be nice what ever colour it comes in.

FWIW
Ian makes some of the BEST looking and functioning stocks in NA (personal opinion).I use his BR model in plain black, but a real thing of beauty.
The lines are perfect, the gelcoat finish superior and priced extremely competitive.
However ,I'll note that Ian has posted a "not accepting any new orders " on his website as of DEC 09 in  order to get caught up on work.
My next BR build will again be in one of his stocks.

Just picked up my new JTR stock last night . and I have to say the finish on these stocks is fantastic.

For the price of these stocks why would anyone get a stock you have to have painted unless you wanted  something unique or weird.  And as for the  composite and wood stocks , well the price now is outrageous unless you have to have one.

Gord,

you may not have seen this but Ian posted the following on CGN a day or two ago.

"I think the Robertson web site may change shortly with some news that will make many around the world very happy"......... "an expanded line (there is already over thirty models that many don't know about, Savage as well), deliveries the way it used to be, less that four weeks with some off the shelf while still maintaining the best quality in the world, and much more."
