Sorry I'm going to miss it. Kind of stuck down here in the jungles of Peru at this moment. I'll be home for the Nationals though. Good luck everyone!

well you didn't miss anything Dan. Weather was brutal. Heavy rain, and 3 Celsius to boot! By consensus the weekend was cancelled.

Now all we need is for the road to wash out again!! Will be the first big test for the bridge. That creek rose 18 inches in 24 hours, but has a long way to go before we will have a problem.

While the weather but a damper on the shooting event, the work done to the range and for the match is appreciated.
On the way home we did hit a little hail, and there were funnel cloud warnings around the Red Deer area, along with the chance
of 4" of rain over the weekend.
The creek held up fine, which several of us can truly appreciate.

We have a standard rule here in the East, if the range officer can see the target and there is no lighting strikes, you shoot!!!!! But I guess that is the difference, EH!!!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I hate to do it but I tend to agree with Bill.  ;) I sure hope the weather is better for the Nationals because I had to move mountains to arrange my schedule around the shoot. Short of the road washing out I'll be there regardless of weather, if only to practice.

I am sure that the Nationals will run rain or shine, come hell or high water.
There is a whole different level of importance to that match versus the one that did not happen this weekend.
I look forward to seeing everyone there.

You guys gotta come out to the Island in the winter for one of our shoots. 1-3 degrees Celsius, howling southeaster with sleet or torrential rains with 98% humidity.  Or 2 feet of snow on the ground with 1 degree  and west coast rain.  We only shoot out to 300yds when it's that bad.  Getcha trained up for your spring shoots.

Good luck on the Nats.

Lots of Monday morning quarterbacks on this thread who were thousands of km away from the Rosebud on Saturday.

All I know is if it was called off it was nasty out. Hanging off the side of a mountain, anything is possible. I can see it now everyone wondering if the bridge will hold out. I would not want to be trapped there with a washed out road.

I think we are getting what you had there today. No rain but howling winds from the NW and only 7 degrees out. I would rather be curled up in bed instead of climbing ladders or poles.

Selkirk had a blackpowder shoot canceled on Sunday for the same reasons as Rosebud this past weekend. Humidity and rain play a huge part is blackpowder shooting as you all know, anyway not a good weekend across the prairies on the weekend.

Boy I can't wait to shoot Rosebud. Lets see, a solid 18 hour drive to get there, the range is almost 5000 feet above sea level on the side of a mountain where its been known to snow any month of the year. We better bring some warm clothes just in case. The guys down east talk pretty tough when it comes to rain, but they have been known to call out the Army when it snows.

Actually Dwayne you should will has snow every month of the year. But boy is it ever fun. We have a picture of the shooters throwing snow balls cause they couldn't see their targets at 100 yds.
