i use thin plastic sign material ,cut 2" wide and then to whatever length of the barrel . the other one is old window blinds , as they have a curve to the  material , its normally thin Gauge Aluminum , again 2" wide and is easy to cut .
attach with small velcro dots to the barrel .
other shooters are using portable fans , they are the recharge type and sit on the bench blowing down the length of the barrel . i have a small fan it works okay , but i seem to go back to the shield .
hope this helps , Steve .

Thanks all for your input. I will definitely have to check those options out. I have been hunting for an old set of blinds for some time now, but funny enough I can't seem to find one of the right size.

I reckon a piece of target and some masking tape won't cut it anymore?   Bill

Target paper and masking tape doubled back on itself was the first I ever used... later I used mylar and velcro but I am back to target paper...

I made an improved model using aluminum flashing and duct tape. I labeled the "Red Green signature model" and expected to be swamped with orders. Didn't happen though.  Bill

I was lucky enough to get an actual medical X Ray film and cut it up. Use Velcro to hold it on.

Was told it was almost unobtanium because there were switching to digital.
