Rosebud July 16/17 HV/Unl
« on: July 08, 2011, 09:47:21 AM »
Take note the Heavy Varmint and Unlimited (5-shot) match is coming up on July 16/17. We will run HV/Unl 100 on Saturday and Unl/HV 200 on Sunday.

We could use someone to help with the target running. The requirement is for 1 or 2 people. The nature of the work is hanging targets and retrieving targets from the 100 and 200 yards target frames between relays. We would need you from about 8am to about 4pm each day. We pay $100/day/person. Interested parties should PM me or e-mail rickpollock@shaw.ca

Thanks,

Rick

The results are posted below. It was a great weekend for BR. Sunny, not too many bugs and the usual difficult winds. Many thanks to Paul Ross for orchestrating this event. Notable performances turned in by Tony Gauthier for winning the 2-Gun and also hats off to Wayne Miller as he has a possible BRSC record in Unl 200 to be sent to the scoring committee.

Next event is the return of the BRSC Super Shoot. This will be held at Rosebud, August 6/7.

Thanks Rick. I got lucky for sure. Some real tricky conditions Sunday afternoon ahd me stumped and thought I had blown it! Rosebud can be a tuff range at the best of times and it is quite amazing that the canadian record for Unlimited 200 yd. Agg was beaten by the top 3 shooters. That is a pretty good indication that competition is getting pretty stiff. That record has been held by Al Mirdoch since 1986.
Tacoma was certainly a big help to me. I shot my rail more in 2 days tahn I had in 2 years! Add to that fact that I had folks like yourself, Mustafa and Steve to show me where to improve the performance of my rail. There is a lot to be learned when you are in the midst of a group of shooters like you guy's!
I would like to compliment Rick and Paul for running a very well organized match. It was a great weekend and everyone had a lot of fun.

You should be safe there aren't many wasps around but the horse flys are bad. One nailed me as a match was starting and I reached around and swatted at him with my hand. He landed on the bench wounded and started to charge me. The hat cam off and I managed to drop in the last foot or so. Then I had to scramble to get my earmuffs back on before Dan started to rattle 5 quick ones down range!!!!!
