2011 BRSC Canadian Nationals
« on: June 08, 2011, 08:52:53 PM »
Okay we are just a little over 3 weeks away.

The meeting will be Friday evening at 6 PM at the range clubhouse.  My plan is to keep it as short as possible and to the point.  Practice all you want Friday until meeting time.

Shooting will commence ASAP Saturday morning.  The sooner everyone gets there, the sooner we can register, draw for benches and get set up.  Unfortunately we do not have the luxury of being able to have the backer and etc set up the night before.  If you are from out of town and know you are coming please e-mail me or call me to let me know.

1-204-570-1956 or email at cyanchyc@mymts.net.

Supper will be Saturday evening at the Larters Golf Course about 10 min from Selkirk.

Sunday we will get going as soon as we can.  So again the earlier we are there the sooner we start.

In regards to lunch for Sat and Sunday I will talk with Lyle and see if he can arrange the Pizza thing again.  Makes it easier to not have to gather some food for lunch.  As usual there will be coffee, water, and possibly canned pop.

Any questions get ahold of me.

Practice day is complete. Pretty hot 32C and humid, conditions were light. Looks like an excellent turnout for tomorrow. The BRSC AGM was also held and the executive positions were acclaimed. Cal Y carries on as President, Joe M is acclaimed as VP, Max S is Secretary and Lyle T is Treasurer.

Let the games begin....!

Sorry there were no reports over the weekend.  The Wi Fi at the motel was HORRIFICLY SLOW.

In short I can announce that DWAYNE CYR of Kenora Ontario is the NEW BRSC CANADIAN NATIONALS CHAMPION.  Way to go Dwayne.  You have been shooting well ever since you stepped into the arena.  A well deserved Championship is yours to hold.

We could not have asked for a more beautiful weekend to host this match in Selkirk.  It has been a few matches since we have not had any rain.  Conditions were readable but tricky and at times well you know, it appeared there was nothing to shoot through.  I think everyone enjoyed themselves.

I would also like to say that we have a winner in the scope raffle.  Due to a request of remaining anonymous all I can tell you at this time the winner has been contacted and resides in Southern Ontario.  Congrats Asphalt599.

Thanks Cal

It was nice not to be flogged like a rented mule by Phil again.

Seriously, I am honored to have my name on the same piece of wood as the shooters who preceded me.

It was a tough field of competitors and many of them deserve to have won but they were not having a good day.

Congratulations on your Presidency, BRSC is in good hands.

Dwayne

I have e-mailed the converted results from Bughole to Excel to those that were in attendance.  When Rick gets home he will be able to upload the full results along with photos.

I did fail to mention that the winners of the PPC Cup went to team Alberta which consisted of Rick Pollock, Dan Opel, and yours TRULY who is now a REFUGE and not wanted in Manitoba.  As Team AB only had 2 members we thru the remaining competitors into a hat and drew for the 3rd team member.

MB was Peter Penner, Harold Wasnie and Murray Benson
Sask was Wayne Miller, Maxine Seib, and Ted Gaillard.
Ontario was Gord Wald, Phil Nick, and Dwayne Cyr.

Have had a bit going on since I got home.  Forgot to thank a few people who need to be thanked for there hard work to make this shoot a success.

In no particular order:

Herman Hefta for scoring on Saturday.  Herman is always a welcome sight and brings humor to the matches.
Lyle Linkaitis for also scoring.
Target crew.  Cannot remeber there names but THANK YOU very much ladies you did a GREAT job.
Murray Benson for his efforts and Grant Schick for making sure the backer was in tip top shape.

The sponsors.  Ted Gaillard, Bill Gammon, and Dan Opel.  Your support is very much appreciated.

Mother Nature for the WONDERFUL weather.  Could not have asked for a nicer weekend.

Finally, all the Competitiors who took time out of there busy lives to make the trex to Selkirk to compete this year.

Thanks to you all.
