Title: Selkirk, MB rebuilt firing line
Post by: cyanchycki on August 11, 2019, 09:03:36 PM
After almost 40 years the Selkirk Game and Fish has had a firing line facelift.

A lot of money and effort has gone into the rebuild for the membership.  Hopefully the membership will enjoy for another 40 years.

A few photos.

I'm working on drafting the new ranges at the Waterford Sportsman Club.
What is the distance between benches?
Do you have a drawing / dimensions of the benches that you could share?

If I am not mistaken they are 8' on center.

Re diagram of the tables, I used to have a copy but not sure if I still do.  If I did I would ask the executive board if they could be shared.

I wouldn't go much less than 8 foot centers. You will run in to issues with concussion upsetting the rifle on the next bench, and also with right and left handed shooters sitting back to back and lacking space for that.

Selkirk benches are as follows,

45.75" front to back.
44.75" wide at the front.
18" wide at the rear.
The on center spacing is staggered, it goes 93" OC then 99" OC and this pattern repeats down the line.

Thats fantastic. I'll make up a sketch and bring it into the club.
How long front to back to make the 18" section?
Did you build a frame and pour the tops yourselves?
